Not Hidden. Just Unseen.
We don’t believe in “hidden gems.” In a region where nature is a way of life and every trail has been walked, truly secret places are rare. But some are still overlooked.
Unseen means quiet places that stay under the radar. Not because they’re unknown, but because no one bothered to write about them in English and in one place. That’s where we come in.
We curate routes that are authentic, peaceful, and full of character. Places that show off Scandinavia without the long drives, the crowds, or the cliché stops. But sometimes we’ll include a well-known spot as well, but only if it’s really worth it.
Jana’s Outdoor Story
I was born somewhere between the mountains of Jeseníky, Rychleby, and Králický Sněžník. If you’ve never heard of them, you’re not alone. It’s a corner of Czechia with raw trails, wild forests, and the kind of rough beauty that reminds me a lot of Scandinavia.
I grew up in a village with around 80 people. So yes, as a teenager, I wanted the opposite: city life, culture, fashion, late nights. During my journalism and film studies, you’d probably find me in a dress, wandering museums, and debating politics in a smoky pub.
Eventually, I started working in marketing, and tried to build the kind of life I thought I wanted. But pretty quickly, it became clear: the office routine wasn’t for me. So I booked a one-way ticket to New Zealand. That’s where everything shifted. Or maybe it’s just where I found my way back to what I always knew — the mountains.

What to Expect from Me

I haven’t been everywhere
And I’m not afraid to admit it. I believe in slow, meaningful exploration — and I’ve consciously skipped some places that are already overwhelmed by tourism.

I value safety and fun
I’m not a loose cannon — especially not when guiding others. I care about having a solid plan, keeping people safe, and making sure everyone enjoys the experience.

I’m a minimalist
It’s not just about gear — it’s a mindset. I don’t need much to be happy, and I don’t feel the urge to see everything. I try to keep my footprint small, not just when I travel.
